La chanson aborde les farces téléphoniques d'un jeune qui, resté seul à la maison, décide de s'amuser en appelant des inconnus pour leur faire des blagues. Il pose des questions absurdes, comme celle de savoir si leur réfrigérateur fonctionne ou il réveille des gens en pleine nuit pour leur parler de livraisons de pizzas. Bien que cela puisse sembler amusant sur le moment, le refrain rappelle que ces plaisanteries sont lassantes et peuvent avoir des conséquences. Au fil des couplets, on voit les réactions des victimes et l'irritation grandissante qui peut survenir lorsque les plaisanteries deviennent trop répétitives.
