La chanson raconte l'histoire d'Eddie, un jeune homme qui, après avoir obtenu son diplôme, décide de partir à Hollywood pour poursuivre ses rêves. Il y fait la rencontre d'une fille qui partage sa passion et ensemble, ils commencent à construire une vie ensemble, remplie d'espoir et de promesses. Ils fréquentent le monde de la musique, avec des hauts et des bas, tout en vivant des moments excitants dans un cadre qui semble plein de possibilités. Cependant, derrière cette façade de liberté et de succès, on sent aussi une certaine désorientation, symbolisée par ce "rebel without a clue". C'est une réflexion sur la quête de soi et les défis de la jeunesse.
