La chanson parle de l'amitié profonde entre le narrateur et Jim, un camarade qui est finalement perdu. Le protagoniste évoque des souvenirs précieux de leur vie ensemble, remplie d'aventures, de travail acharné et de moments de joie. Lors d'un dernier hommage à Jim, ils ont décidé de porter une cravate pour marquer l'occasion, même si le narrateur se sent un peu ridicule dans cet habit. Jim a voyagé vers un autre monde, et le narrateur lui demande de lui réserver une place là où les rues sont pavées d'or. C'est une réflexion sur la perte, les souvenirs et l'amitié, soulignant le lien spécial qu'ils partageaient malgré le chagrin.
