The G5 (3X0033) is personal choice just thought it sounded a bit more bassy. If you play the Barred C at the 3rd (X3555X) makes it easier to hit the G Bass note also at the 3rd (3X555X) then slide down to A# (X1333X) A#maj7 (X0333X). I also play the G (355433) and F (133211) as barred chords. At the Bridge there is a small Bass Fill which you could play on Guitar if you wish i have provided a small Tab for that.
