Cette chanson évoque une époque où l'auteur, désireux de trouver sa place dans un monde difficile, était prêt à tout, même à trahir sa propre mère ou son frère pour satisfaire ses besoins. Toutefois, malgré la précarité, il insiste sur l'importance de sa guitare, qu'il considère comme un symbole de son âme et de sa passion. Il refuse de renoncer à cet instrument, car vendre sa guitare serait pour lui une trahison, même face à la faim.
