(Rythme 3/4) There is a young maiden_ she lives all a-lone_ She lived all a-lone on the shore__-ore_ There's nothing she can find to comfort her mind_ But to roam all a-lone on the shore_ shore shore_ But to roam all a-lone on the shore___ That'was of the young Captain who sailed the salt sea_ Let the wind blow high_ blow low__-ow_ I will die_ I will die_ the young Captain did cry_ If I don't have that maid on the shore_ shore_ shore_ If I don't have that maid on the shore___ I have lots of silver_ I have lots of gold_ I have lots of costly ware__-o_ I'll divide_ I'll divide_ with my jolly ship's crew_ If they row me that maid on the shore_ shore shore_ If they row me that maid on the shore___ After much persuasion_ they got her aboard_ Let the wind blow high_ blow low__-ow They replaced her away in his cabin below_ Here's adieu to all sorrow and care_ care_ care_ Here's adieu to all sorrow and care___ They replaced her away in his cabin below_ Let the wind blow high_ blow low__-ow She's so pretty and neat_ she's so sweet and complete_ She's sung Captain and sailors to sleep_ sleep sleep_ She's sung Captain and sailors to sleep___ Then she robbed him of silver_ she robbed him of gold_ She robbed him of costly ware__-o_ Then took his broadsword instead of an oar_ And paddled her way to the shore_ shore_ shore_ And paddled her way_ to the shore___ Me men must be crazy_ me men must be mad_ Me men must be deep in despair__-o_ For to let you away from my cabin so gay_ And to paddle your way to the shore_ shore_ shore_ And to paddle your way to the shore___ Your men was not crazy_ your men was not mad_ Your men was not deep in despair__-o_ I deluded your sailors as well as yourself_ I'm a maiden again on the shore_ shore_ shore_ I'm a maiden again on the shore___ There is a young maiden_ she lives all a-lone_ She lived all a-lone on the shore__-ore_ There's nothing she can find to comfort her mind_ But to roam all a-lone on the shore_ shore shore_ But to roam all a-lone on the shore___
