Cette chanson évoque une enquête criminelle intrigante où un détective, connu sous le nom de Continental Op, se retrouve face à un meurtre mystérieux. Le protagoniste se lance dans une quête pour résoudre des énigmes entourant un corps retrouvé dans une baie, tout en poursuivant les indices qui lissent jusqu'à l’agresseur. Malgré des obstacles et des adversités, il reste déterminé à élucider cette affaire complexe. Le morceau rend hommage à Dashiell Hammett, un pilier de la fiction policière, en mettant en avant l'atmosphère sombre et réaliste de ses intrigues. À travers des références et des situations typiques du genre, il nous plonge dans un univers où rien n’est réellement fermé et où chaque indice peut mener à une nouvelle révélation.
