La chanson raconte une histoire simple mais tragique, où une petite fille est effrayée par une araignée et s'enfuit. L'araignée finit par tisser sa toile, embellie par la pluie qui lui donne un aspect brillant. Cependant, un oiseau, attiré par cette toile, la détruit en se nourrissant de l'araignée. Ce cycle se termine tragiquement lorsque le même oiseau est abattu par un homme, qui retourne ensuite chez lui pour chanter dans une chorale. Elle évoque ainsi la fragilité de la vie et les aléas du destin, avec des images puissantes de beauté et de perte qui se succèdent. On ressent, à travers cette narration, une réflexion sur les conséquences des actions et le rythme inévitable de la vie.
