Cette chanson raconte l'histoire d'un jeune garçon nommé Brian qui grandit. Au fil des strophes, on voit sa transformation, passant de l'enfance à l'adolescence, avec les caractéristiques typiques de cette période, comme les changements physiques et l'éveil des désirs. Brian, avec ses bras et ses jambes, devient un adolescent aux préoccupations très humaines. Il découvre les plaisirs de la vie, comme le fait de sortir, de s'intéresser aux filles et de s'initier à des comportements propres à l'âge adulte.
