La chanson évoque la frustration face à des promesses répétées et des discours creux, que ce soit de la part de prédicateurs ou de figures politiques. On y retrouve ce sentiment d’illusions brisées, où les célèbres "réponses" que l’on nous présente semblent finalement vides de sens. Les personnages se sentent trahis, que ce soit par des leaders qui offrent des solutions fantomatiques ou par des messages médiatiques trompeurs qui ne font que les désillusionner davantage. Dans un contexte où les engagements et les valeurs semblent souvent délaissés au profit d'intérêts personnels ou politiques, le protagoniste se rend compte que beaucoup de ce qui est promis ne mène nulle part.
