La chanson évoque le cheminement d’un jeune homme qui, à l’âge de 15 ans, rêve de quitter sa ville natale pour explorer le monde. Il imagine un avenir brillant en Californie, mais en cours de route, il se rend compte à quel point il lui manque son chez-soi et ses racines. Au fil des années, il se rappelle avec nostalgie ces moments passés, les amis avec qui il a formé un groupe de musique et les lieux où ils se produisaient.
