La chanson parle des sentiments complexes qu’on ressent lorsque de bonnes choses arrivent dans sa vie, mais qu’on ne peut pas partager ces moments avec une personne qui nous manque. L'artiste évoque une conversation intérieure, où il réalise qu’il ne doit plus essayer de reconquérir son ancienne partenaire, même si son cœur est encore attaché à elle. Chaque fois qu'il reçoit de bonnes nouvelles, il se sent seul, car il n'y a personne à qui les annoncer, alors qu’auparavant, il avait l’habitude de le faire. Le contexte semble être celui d'une rupture où les souvenirs heureux sont teintés de tristesse, soulignant à quel point le partage d'expériences avec l'être aimé rend ces moments encore plus précieux.
