Woman King
Iron & Wine
One of my favorite Iron & Wine songs off the titular album Woman King. The harmonic progression is very simple and is played throughout the verses and chorus as 6 beats of Em 2 beats of D. During the musical interludes you play the following lead guitar bit which should take 2 measures in total. All notes are relative to the capo which should be on the 2nd fret. |-------------------|-------------------------| G|-------------------|------------2--0---------| D|------2---------2--|------2-----------4/5\4--| A|--0h2-------0h2----|--0h2--------------------| |-------------------|-------------------------| [Intro] [Verse 1] Blackbird claw raven wing Under the red sunlight Long clothesline two shirtsleeves Waving as we go by [Chorus] Hundred years hundred more Someday we may see a Woman king wristwatch time Slowing as she goes to sleep [Interlude] [Verse 2] Black horse fly lemonade Jar on the red ant hill Garden worm cigarette Ash on the window sill [Chorus] Hundred years hundred more Someday we may see a Woman king sword in hand Swing at some evil and bleed [Interlude] [Verse 3] Black hoof mare broken leg Eye on the shotgun shell Age-old dog hornet nest Built in the big church bell [Chorus] Hundred years hundred more Someday we may see a Woman king bloodshot eye Thumb down and starting to weep [Outro]
