(Rythme 3/4) |_ _ |_ _ | I'm a young married man and is tired of life Ten years I've been wed to a sic-k-ly wife  She does nothin all day only sit down and cry And she prays out to heaven that she soon will die  Doctor, oh doctor, oh dear Dr John Your cod liver oil is so pure and so strong  I'm afraid of me life, I'll go down in the soil If me wife don't stop drinking your cod liver oil       Well a friend of me own came to see me one day He told me my darling was pining away  He afterwards told me that she would get strong If I only get a bottle from dear Dr John  Doctor, oh doctor, oh dear Dr John Your cod liver oil is so pure and so strong  I'm afraid of me life, I'll go down in the soil If me wife don't stop drinking your cod liver oil       It was then that I purchased a bottle to try The way that she drank it you'd think she might die  Then I bought her another, and vanished the same Oh me wife she's got cod liver oil on the brain Doctor, oh doctor, oh dear Dr John Your cod liver oil is so pure and so strong  I'm afraid of me life, I'll go down in the soil If me wife don't stop drinking your cod liver oil       Now me house it resembles a medicine's shop It's covered with bottles from bottom to top  And then in the morning when the kettle do boil I'd swear it was singing the cod liver oil   Doctor, oh doctor, oh dear Dr John Your cod liver oil is so pure and so strong  I'm afraid of me life, I'll go down in the soil If me wife don't stop drinking your cod liver oil
