La chanson évoque la réalité tragique de ceux qui vivent dans la pauvreté et l'abandon, décrivant des vies marquées par la faim et la détresse. Elle parle de personnes venues de différents horizons, qui sont laissées pour compte par une société qui semble les ignorer. Les images de la pluie et de la neige qui s'infiltrent dans leurs maisons symbolisent à la fois la misère de leur quotidien et l'indifférence ambiante.
