La chanson parle d'une personne qui pensait avoir compris l'amour et qui croyait pouvoir en maîtriser chaque aspect. Elle se rend vite compte qu'elle avait tort, car les émotions ne peuvent pas être contrôlées comme on le voudrait. À travers ses expériences, elle apprend que l'amour a ses propres règles et qu'il est beaucoup plus puissant que ce qu'elle avait imaginé.
