La chanson évoque l'angoisse d'un homme qui se trouve dans un grand hôtel alors qu'une tempête violente se prépare. Il observe l’agitation autour de lui, alors que tout le monde essaie de fuir la menace imminente. Le climat est pesant et l'insécurité palpable, personne ne peut échapper à l'ouragan qui approche, et tous sont coincés dans cette situation désespérée. Le récit se déroule dans un cadre tropical, où les éléments se déchaînent et où la mer démontée symbolise le chaos qui va s’installer. L’ambiance devient encore plus dramatique lorsque le personnage réalise qu'il n'y a pas de moyen de rentrer chez lui, la communication est rompue et les routes sont bloquées. C'est un moment où l'impuissance se mêle à une angoisse palpable face à l’imminent désastre.
