Dans cette chanson, on évoque la vie des femmes qui se retrouvent dans le Connecticut, se débattant avec leurs regrets suite à des décisions de vie qui semblent les enfermer dans une routine insatisfaisante. Elles tentent d'oublier les déceptions de leur quotidien, en particulier les trahisons et mensonges qui les entourent, notamment ceux de leurs maris. Le narrateur décrit un homme qui jongle habilement entre son épouse et ses conquêtes, mettant en lumière l'illusion que certains tentent de maintenir dans un environnement où la superficialité et les secrets deviennent des normes. Il en résulte un tableau où ces femmes, bien que physiquement présentes, se sentent piégées dans des choix qu'elles ne peuvent changer.
