La chanson évoque la lutte d'un homme qui, après avoir passé des années à travailler dans le journalisme, se retrouve hanté par ses souvenirs de guerre et par une vie qui semble lui échapper. Il ressent une nostalgie pour les petites choses, comme l'odeur du papier et l'encre sur ses mains. Tandis qu'il tente de reconstruire sa vie, il se demande si quelque chose de sa valeur persiste, si quelqu'un voudra ce qui reste de lui. Dans un monde où il se sent de plus en plus déconnecté, il exprime l'idée que malgré les défis et les pertes, il ne renonce pas à ses rêves et continue d'espérer. Cette quête d'identité et de reconnaissance dans un environnement en mutation fait écho à une réalité partagée par beaucoup, touchant les thèmes de l’engagement, de la perte et de la résilience.
