Dans cette chanson, on suit l'histoire d'une jeune femme qui, après avoir dit au revoir à son compagnon, rate son bateau. Déterminée à traverser la mer, elle prend un ferry, mais celui-ci part avant qu'elle ne puisse embarquer. Désespérée, elle finit par voler un petit bateau et commence à ramer, affrontant des conditions maritimes difficiles pour atteindre les côtes françaises. Son audace et sa détermination attirent bientôt l'attention des habitants, qui se pressent pour voir la "fille qui a volé un bateau" après avoir manqué son embarquement. C'est un récit de bravoure et de volonté face à l'adversité.
