La chanson raconte l’histoire d’une femme qui, après avoir souffert de maladies pendant très longtemps, entend parler de Jésus et décide de se joindre à la foule qui l’entoure. Elle est déterminée à le toucher, croyant fermement que cela la guérira. Malgré les échecs des médecins et son épuisement financier, sa foi la pousse à traverser la foule. Lorsqu’elle réussit à toucher son vêtement, Jésus ressent le contact et se tourne vers elle, reconnaissant son acte de foi. Le contexte fait référence à un épisode biblique où cette femme, dans sa persévérance, illustre l’importance de la foi et de l’espoir. C’est une belle métaphore de la quête de guérison, tant physique que spirituelle.
